Welcome to
Chesterton Community Association

As the population of Chesterton continues to grow, with residents eager to help shape the future of their community, the need for a central group to co-ordinate their efforts was identified. Chesterton Community Association was formed in June 2009 in response to this need.

A public meeting with Dr Julian Huppert MP for Cambridge

"Localism"

Are you a member of a Residents Association? Would you like to know how the Government's declared policy of pushing decision making down to local communities will affect you?

The Federation of Cambridge Residents Associations (FeCRA) organising group invites you to a meeting with the Cambridge Member of Parliament, Julian Huppert, to hear a briefing. More information on FeCRA can be found here.

The meeting is planned for late autumn, on a Saturday morning, at a suitable venue.

FeCRA need to ensure a strong turnout to justify taking up our MP's time. If you would be interested in attending this event please contact your Residents Association or Contact Us by 10 August.

A poster showing the proposed agenda can be viewed here.

Arbury Court & Milton Road Library Updates

Arbury Court and Milton Road libraries are the two which serve the whole of north Cambridge.

The County Council consultation on the future of the library service has now started but all they have announced so far is some public meetings and a “roadshow”. The meetings in Cambridge will be held in the Central Library after it closes at 7pm on Tuesday 10 August and Thursday 9 September. The roadshow will be in the Grafton Centre from Monday 9 August to Sunday 14 August and will then visit the local libraries – no dates available yet. There will be questionnaires available at the libraries, the roadshows and on-line.

A report of the meeting held at Arbury Community Centre, Campkin Road on Saturday 17 July to discuss the future of Arbury Court Library can be seen on the Local Libraries page.

A report from the Full County Council meeting on 20 July and updates from the Friends of Milton Road Library can be seen on the Local Libraries page.
